We are a full-service veterinary hospital serving residents of Rifle, Silt, New Castle, and Parachute. We accept CareCredit.
Our in-house laboratory and digital radiology allow for complete blood testing and state of the art x-rays, enabling us to diagnose and monitor many medical conditions. We also have the ability to do complete urinalysis and parasite testing. We work closely with outside laboratories to conduct specialized diagnostic testing when necessary.
Surgery and Anesthesia:
We offer a wide array of surgical services including ovariohysterectomies (spays), neuters, laceration repairs, mass removals, amputations, and more. Specialty procedures, like fracture repairs, are performed by our board-certified traveling surgeon, Dr. Darren Imhoff. All surgery patients receive intravenous fluids and are monitored with equipment such as an ECG machine, blood oxygenation level monitors, and a blood pressure monitor.
Wellness & Preventive Health Care:
Our doctors are passionate about keeping your pets healthy from the very beginning with effective preventative medicine. This refers to all the things necessary to PREVENT disease, or catch it in the early stage. Examples are bringing your pets in for routine wellness exams (annually), keeping them up to date on vaccinations, conducting flea, tick and heartworm testing and using parasite prevention, and performing routine fecal testing and deworming.
Pet dental health is extremely important! Just like humans, pets need routine professional dental care. All of our dental cleanings are done with your pet under anesthesia so that our doctors can safely and accurately treat the entire mouth. Calcified dental tartar can only be removed with an ultrasonic scaler. All of our dental patients also receive dental x-rays to allow for a full examination of the teeth. We are able to provide ultrasonic cleaning and polishing, dental X-rays, and tooth extractions when indicated.
Chiropractic treatment aims to treat ailments by correcting vertebral subluxation complexes in the spine, where a joint becomes "stuck" and can no longer move freely. When a joint in the vertebral column (spine) is stuck, the nervous system can be impacted, creating pain and inflammation. Readjusting a joint into its correct place allows the body to restore proper motion and alignment as well as causes a release of endorphins and relieves pain. Conditions that can be targeted with chiropractic medicine include many orthopedic and musculoskeletal conditions.
We are happy to have several doctors that are certified in veterinary acupuncture. Acupuncture needles help stimulate nerves and vessels in the body to increase blood flow, relieve muscle tension, and release endorphins. Acupuncture treatment can be beneficial in pets with arthritis, acute or chronic injuries, and more.
Exotic and Livestock Medicine:
Our clinic treats several species of exotic pets including reptiles, amphibians, and furry pocket pets. We also offer services for small livestock animals and poultry birds. Please call us at 970-625-5035 for more information. At this time, we are unable to accommodate care for pet bird species. We apologize for this inconvenience.
There are many specialists now, just as in human medicine. We utilize these resources whenever necessary to provide the best possible care for your pet. Learn about some of our specialists here.
