After completing her schooling at Colorado State University, Dr. Schmidt has made the Western Slope her home. 

She is a strong supporter of the human-animal bond and believes in an individualized approach tailored to fit the needs of both people and their pets. She especially enjoys helping pets age gracefully and remain active into their golden years. She also enjoys treating small mammals such as rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, and rats. 

Dr. Schmidt and her husband enjoy spending as much time outdoors as possible, especially with their toddler in tow, sharing their love of nature from an early age. They love taking their two dogs on hikes and out on the river, and their two gray kitties help make their house feel like home.
