The Cozy Little Kennel is located in Rifle, 5 miles north of I-70. They provide overnight boarding as well as a daycare in their clean, indoors runs and 10-acre outdoor play area, with a pond!

Journey Home Animal Care Center

The Journey Home Animal Care Center provides temporary shelter and cares for homeless animals while encouraging responsible pet care and being a community resource for animal welfare. The facility provides shelter and care for over 1,000 lost, surrendered, ill, injured, or orphaned animals each year.

Animal Poison Control

The ASPCA runs the Animal Poison Control. They are your best resource for any animal poison-related emergency, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. If you think that your pet may have ingested a potentially poisonous substance, call (888) 426-4435. A $65 consultation fee may be applied to your credit card. The website contains information on common household poison, toxic plants, and poison safety tips.

Argus Institute

The Argus Institute provides free grief counseling relating to pet loss and support to those making end-of-life decisions for their pets. Founded in 1984, our unique program is one of the longest-standing, most comprehensive programs of its kind. Our clinical counselors offer support to people who are facing difficult decisions regarding their pets’ health and help them manage the challenges of caring for a sick animal.

Indoor Pet Initiative

The Indoor Pet Initiative is associated with Ohio State Veterinary School. Their goal is to enhance the health and welfare of companion animals worldwide so that all pets and their caregivers can experience optimal well-being. Optimal well-being permits individuals to thrive in their environments. By giving caregivers the information and tools needed to recognize thriving in their pets, and to create an environment that permits them to thrive across the lifespan, we aim to sustain the highest quality relationship between pets and their owners possible. The Indoor Pet Initiative (IPI) provides a foundation for pet owners and veterinarians to create plans tailored to promote thriving that is based on the soundest, most up-to-date science available.

The American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM) is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of animals and people through education, training, and certification of specialists in veterinary internal medicine, discovery, and dissemination of new medical knowledge, and increasing public awareness of advances in veterinary medical care. The ACVIM is the international certifying organization for veterinary specialists in cardiology, large animal internal medicine, neurology, oncology, and small animal internal medicine.

American Kennel Club

The American Kennel Club is dedicated to upholding the integrity of its Registry, promoting the sport of purebred dogs and breeding for type and function.
